Monday, December 21, 2015

On the 16th December, a group of us went to River Safari with the kids from Life Community Service Society!

We prepared some questions related to River Safari, and the kids were given a sheet of paper to write down the answers.

Touching some starfishes!

Paying a visit to those sea creatures.

Preparing for lunch break.

MacDonalds for Lunch!

After the satisfying lunch, we visited the pandas and red pandas!

Planning the route to take.

Taking a short break from all the walking to help the kids with the questionnaires.

These are some of the reflections:

I feel that this CIP has made me more appreciative for what I have. I also learnt that different kids have different ways of showing what they want and need. So, patience and tolerance is needed to understand them. Overall, this is a day well spent as I have enjoyed myself as it is a different form of community service.

I feel that events that involve children doesn't always go according to plan. You will never know how the children will react and thus you must be able to adapt and change accordingly. A takeaway for myself would be being sincere towards the kids, which will cause them to understand where we are coming from and thus they will start listening. In all, being able to bond with the kids makes me want to interact with them more often for future activities!
