Computer CIP @ Life Community Service Society

On 14 December 2015, a group of volunteers from our course and Diploma in Infocomm Security Management headed down to the Life Community Service Society to conduct a computer CIP, whereby we guided the kids there how to use the computer and about internet security.
When we arrived at the centre, we started off by playing some ice-breaking games with the kids, while the volunteers from Diploma in Infocomm Security Management set up the computer for the later activity. The kids were very energetic and hyper and everyone was having a great time with the games!
After we played Bingo, it was time for tea-break. Everyone was hungry and the kids were treated with delicious curry puffs prepared by us! Everyone seemed to enjoy the food very much!

Then, the kids were taught by the volunteers from Diploma in Infocomm Security Management to use the computer to play educational games. The kids were very excited during this activity!
This was followed by a short demonstration by the volunteers about how one's private information can be 'stolen' by clicking on suspicious links unknowingly. The kids were amazed by how an innocent-looking website could easily deceive people.
To end off the day, a short presentation was made by a volunteer from our course to raise awareness about computer safety and internet vigilance to the kids.
Overall, it was a very fun and meaningful experience for all of us because we get to interact with the kids there. We certainly hope to participate in more of these events in the future!
