Hello DPCSians!

Finally, the first post for the week! Anyway we will use this blog like our diary to write about our weekly interesting events here and happenings lols. (Since this course is always so happening...)


For Year 2s, I guess the only interesting thing that happened this week was the steam distillation for our lab experiment. So here are some pictures of what we did.

What we are doing here is basically steam distillation which we need to extract oil from orange peel, also known as d-limonene. It was simple and fun BUT super time-consuming. We took like around half an hour just to get a few drops of that precious oil... Well no big deal actually, just that our experiment required us to obtain like 100 mL of that oil. So try imagine the time needed...

Anyway that is all for the Year 2s this week. But just before I end, let me show you how serious we are in studying lols. (Or you can also interpret it as, studying 'Laugh-Out-Loud-s' in class)
