During this holiday, Miss Sandy from NoseWhoKnows came down to our lab and conducted a Perfumery workshop. She gave us a talk about the company's history and also introduced us to over 100 fragrances and raw materials.
For the first 3 days, we managed to smell over 100 raw materials. Through this activity, we got a better understanding on the different scents and have learnt many different ways to describe any particular scent.
COSMOPROF

On the last day, we formulated simple rose, tea rose, red rose and basic rose scent.
This workshop is definitely an eyeopener for us as we are exposed to even more scents!

SYMRISE TALK
During the Experienced Poly Program, various companies and local universities came over to our school to give us a talk.
Highlight of all the interesting events of the week had to be the talk by Dr. Nobert A.Braun and Mr Tim Jones from Symrise.
Mr Tim Jones first talked about the different aspects in perfumery field which is Flavour & Nutrition and Fragrance.
He then elaborated more on fragrance, while Dr.Nobert A.Braun talked more about Flavour & Nutrition.
Dr.Nobert A.Braun continue the talk with Flavour&Nutrition segment.
After that,there's a Q&A session where students can ask various questions
they had about and get consulted by both Tim Jones and Dr.Nobert A.Braun.
Both of them were very friendly and came prepared as they answered
the student's questions confidently.
Students who asked questions were entitled a small bottle of perfume specially made by Symrise!
The talk ended with career prospects of symrise and also number of technical employees in Singapore.
They were currently 150 employees in Singapore,excluding other Symrise's Asia branch.
Our lecturer, Mr Heng giving out the appreciation token to both of the Symrise talkers.

On 16th of October, Cosmoprof academy, Singapore renowned Cosmetic academy had came to our school to give the students a speech about their academy!
Michelle, student from Cosmoprof academy demonstrated a special makeover on one of our lucky student!
Ms Angie, principal of cosmoprof academy first talk about their diploma programmes.
She then showed us a few videos that showcases their student's work, and also the opening & closing ceremony of SEA games. (Cosmoprof helped with the makeup of the models in the closing ceremony parade during the SEA games.)
