Howdy y'all!
As you all know, all year 2 students have this thing called "internship". Back in March 2013, 8 students (5 from DPCS) were sent to 3 different parts of Japan for Overseas Internship Training Programme. I was one of the lucky few, along with Wilson, to be a part of this amazing experience.
On March 3rd 2013, all 8 of us met at Changi Airport and prepared to leave for Japan. After 6-7 hours in the plane, we finally arrived at Narita Airport on March 4th 2013. And there we here, welcoming an exciting 6 weeks experience in Japan.
And here I present to you, Chiba Institute of Science. Doesn't it look pretty? The clear blue skies & fluffy white clouds. #nofilter !
The view in front of the institute is insanely gorgeous. How can you NOT want to study in a place like this?!
The topic tasked to us was mainly on Thin Layer Chromatography. It was TLC all day, everyday. We experimented with various pure and industrial surfactants.
This is one of our professors, Professor Yamashita.
During our first weekend in Chiba, Japan, we visted Yamasa Soy Sauce Factory. It is one the famous soy sauce manufacturers. Unfortunately we didn't get to tour the factory because it is closed during the weekends.. however we got to watch a clip of how it is made & the history of soy sauce. Just by watching this clip, we were gifted with a pack of soy sauce. Hahaha thinking back, it's still so epic to me. Not only that, we tried Soy Sauce flavored ice cream!
Sounds pretty disgusting doesn't it? But to our surprise, it was actually really tasty! Kinda resembled coffee flavored ice cream, not too bad at all.
On the second weekend, our seniors brought us to Asakusa, a famous tourist spot.
This is Yousuke-san. He is currently pursuing a Masters degree. A very very funny guy indeed. Wilson's favorite guy! He is constantly bringing us endless joy & laughter in the laboratory.
Interesting thus far?
Well, stay tuned for part 2! Lotsa pics coming your way.
