Last week, we saw an update from the pioneer batch who really are the guinea pigs. ;D

So this week, it's the year 2s turn!!

Firstly, I'd like to welcome our third batch of DPCS lovelies!! :D Our freshies this year like got more guys ah, five instead of one. YAY! :)

In case you didn't know, we only have ONE guy in year 2. He must have done a super good job during open house -- attracting guys that is. OKAY KIDDING!

This semester, we are taking our elective modules! We were made to choose our electives in the last semester of year one by ranking the choices by preference. There were 3 choices: Forensic Chemistry, Nutrition and Biochemistry. As FOChem and Nutrition  were more popular among us, the year 2s were pretty much split evenly into both.

Note to Year 1s: Please note that after your elective has been confirmed, you are not allowed to change! So if there is a need, you can always ask seniors for their notes to refer to or ask them about the electives so that you can make the best choice for yourself! If you are interested in Biochemistry however, the seniors don't have the notes, you may need to get them from some other diploma (If I'm not wrong, biotech biomed students are taking them!) :D

As a Year 3 student, I shall enlighten you about what modules you can anticipate with "excitement" once you have achieved this status quo.

So for the first module, GMP, which stands for Good Manufacturing Practices is one of awesome modules you should be looking out for. Why? This module is an ICA module which does not require you to take any MSTs/Exams. Furthermore, all the CA are open-book tests.

So what exactly is this awesome module about? Lets have a quick sneak peek on its content.

             

Basically you just need to know the existence of these annexes and trace down chemicals which fall under various categories in this document. (This is just one of the many documents you must have for your tests...)

By the way, you can even use laptop during these tests. So what exactly are they testing? Imagine all these documents are inside your memory, and you are to apply them into real case scenarios by giving advices and solutions to any possible issues that might occur during the manufacturing process. The only difference is that your amount of content is uncapped (since you have access to internet and notes) unlike your normal tests which you can only remember a capped amount of content (using your brain).

So with this awesome module awaiting you all in Year 3, I hope you all will survive your remaining years to Year 3 ^_^.
