So this week, it's the year 2s turn!!
Firstly, I'd like to welcome our third batch of DPCS lovelies!! :D Our freshies this year like got more guys ah, five instead of one. YAY! :)
In case you didn't know, we only have ONE guy in year 2. He must have done a super good job during open house -- attracting guys that is. OKAY KIDDING!
This semester, we are taking our elective modules! We were made to choose our electives in the last semester of year one by ranking the choices by preference. There were 3 choices: Forensic Chemistry, Nutrition and Biochemistry. As FOChem and Nutrition were more popular among us, the year 2s were pretty much split evenly into both.
Note to Year 1s: Please note that after your elective has been confirmed, you are not allowed to change! So if there is a need, you can always ask seniors for their notes to refer to or ask them about the electives so that you can make the best choice for yourself! If you are interested in Biochemistry however, the seniors don't have the notes, you may need to get them from some other diploma (If I'm not wrong, biotech biomed students are taking them!) :D
Here's a picture of what Dr Ong CC from FOChem drew during our lesson.
He was explaining something about hair and dyes and sulfide bonds. This drawing made us giggle a bit and so I decided to take a picture of it. It is not really related to forensic chemistry really, and hence why we thought it was kinda funny.
Not funny ah? Okay. Can.
This semester, we also have a module called VMRC which is the acronym for Visual Merchandising and Retail Communications. We have our lessons in the retail studio at T19 (business block) which is pretty cool cause it isn't your normal classroom setting!
This module is more project based; for our first assignment on visual merchandising, we had glass displays and shadowboxes to do. The glass displays were supposed to be according to the 4 seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Here's a picture of the glass displays done by the 02 class.

Go check out all these out during your 2 hour breaks (if any) at T19337!! :D
Do have fun during your 3 years in DPCS! Time passes faster than you think! Get along with everyone including your buddy class! It's like the unique quality of our course; that we can bond the whole year since our intake every year is less than 40 people!
Let's all be one big DPCS family! Don't be shy kay?
That's all from me, see you soon! :)
Love,
DPCS Publicity (Y2)
